Children's Privacy Notice

What we collect

When a parent adds a child to FamilyChaos, we store the child's name, date of birth, and email address (if provided). We also store things the child does in the app, such as calendar events, list items, To Do items, chore records, notes, and recipes. From the child's chore records we work out simple chore stats (chores finished, on-time rate, and streak) that only the child sees, next to the family's totals. Vault entries created by a child are end-to-end encrypted — we cannot read the contents.

How we use it

We use this information only to run the app for your family. We do not sell it. We do not share it with advertisers. Our marketing website uses self-hosted, cookieless Umami analytics to count page visits, but this is entirely separate from the app — it does not collect any data about your child's activity inside FamilyChaos.

Who can see it

Everyone in the family can see the child's name and anything the child shares with the family. Adults (parents) manage the child's account and can export all of the child's data from Settings. Inside the app, anything the child marks private — an event, list, note, recipe, or To Do list — is shown only to the child, the same as for every other member. Nobody else sees the child's chore stats; nothing ranks or compares members.

Your rights as a parent

You can:

• See all data we hold about your child — Settings → Members → Export data
• Correct mistakes — Settings → Members → Edit
• Delete everything — Settings → Members → Remove
• Withdraw consent — Settings → Members → Withdraw consent

These actions happen immediately.

How long we keep data

We keep data while your family account is active. When you delete a child's account, their personal information is removed within 24 hours. Consent records are kept longer as required by law, but with the child's name removed.
