Terms of Service

1. Service Description
FamilyChaos is a private family organisation application operated by Justin Robinson (“FamilyChaos”, “we”, “us”). It provides shared calendars, lists, chore management, bill tracking, notes, meal planning, a recipe book, a shared vault for passwords and secure notes, and external calendar sync for families.
2. Account Registration
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction) to create a family account. By registering, you represent that you are legally able to enter into this agreement and, where you add child members, that you are the parent or legal guardian with authority to provide parental consent on their behalf.
3. Subscription and Billing
FamilyChaos is offered on a subscription basis following a one-month free trial. Billing is handled by Stripe. You may cancel at any time from Settings. Subscription fees are stated at the time of purchase and may change with 30 days' notice. All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD) and include applicable taxes where required by law.
4. Cancellation and Refund Policy
You may cancel your subscription at any time from Settings → Billing. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period; no partial-month refunds are issued for monthly subscriptions. For annual subscriptions, you may request a pro-rata refund for unused complete months remaining in your billing year by contacting privacy@familychaos.ca within 30 days of cancellation.
5. Acceptable Use
FamilyChaos is intended for one family per account. You agree not to use the service for any unlawful purpose, to share your account with persons outside your family group, or to attempt to access another family's data.
6. Data and Privacy
Your use of FamilyChaos is subject to our Privacy Policy and, for families with children, Children's Privacy Notice. We do not sell your data.
7. Service Availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance with or without notice. We are not liable for losses resulting from service outages.
8. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upon termination, your data is retained for 30 days then deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, FamilyChaos is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Our liability to you for any claim arising from use of the service shall not exceed the fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms. We will notify you by email at least 30 days before material changes take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
